The foot soldiers know exactly how low the risk is to them. As long as they do the boss' bidding and kiss the ring they are perfectly safe in "legal" terms. In the unlikely event that free and fair elections happen and take away MAGA political control, they will have pardons.

Their main worry would be what happens if they encounter armed resistance.

What should Dems do? Start resisting. It may be too late.
