The app for independent voices

There are many other ways to participate in the resistance.

I'm not good for walking long distances, but I can handle standing for 1 - 1.5 hrs. (Some of our older participants bring a camp chair and sit for stationery protests).

But my primary forms of resistance are:

➡️ getting people registered to vote (League of Women voters for nonpartisan activities and Field Team 6 for partisan voter registration)

➡️ helping voters make sure they have the ID they need to make their votes count (VoteRiders)

➡️ writing campaigns for persuasion (Postcards to Swing States "News Boosting" postcards and Activate America's "Accountability" postcards) and to get-out-the-vote (GOTV) (Postcards to Swing States, Activate America, Reclaim Our Vote, Environmental Voter Project, Vote Forward letters)

Links:

* League of Women Voters (lwv.org) - find a local chapter near you

* Field Team 6 (fieldteam6.org/all-volu…) - they do multi-channel voter registration - in-person drives, postcards, texting, social media storming

* VoteRiders (voteriders.org/volunteer) - I write letters to voters with them, but there are lots of opportunities; currently looking for Spanish-speaking volunteers

* Postcards to Swing States (turnoutpac.org/postcards) - News Boosting postcards are available now for GA, IA, ME, MI, and NC; GOTV available in May for many more swing states/districts to be mailed to voters in October

*Activate America (activateamerica.vote/po…) will do persuasion campaigns now and switch to GOTV when it gets closer to the election

* Reclaim Our Vote (centerforcommonground.o… - they focus on Black voters in Southern States where these voters traditionally have been disenfranchised

* Environmental Voter Project (environmentalvoter.org/…) - they focus on low-propensity voters whose #1 issue is the environment by writing postcards, phone-banking, and canvassing)

* Vote Forward (votefwd.org/instructions) - volunteers write a blurb about why the vote to accompany tailored resources on how to vote. Based on prior campaigns, they will likely have statewide campaigns for states with critical Senate races (GA, IA(?), ME, MI, NC, OH) and any critical house districts identified by Swing Left (swingleft.org/house)
