For anyone who can't get out to protest due to the weather or otherwise, here are some ways that you can participate in the resistance from the comfort of your own home!
Current postcard campaigns:
Activate America (activateamerica.vote/po…) - you provide your own postcards & stamps and download addresses & script; currently AA has two campaigns up:
* Sherrod Brown for US Senate (OH) - Mail as you go but no later than Feb 28
* Judge Chris Taylor for WI Supreme Court (WI) -Mail ASAP but no later than Mar 10 (script encourages vote by Mail)
Field Team 6 (postcards.fieldteam6.org) - they sell postcards or you can use your own. FT6 promotes voter registration in swing states or districts
* ME is currently the only statewide campaign
* Campaigns for the house include swing districts in AZ, CO, IA, MI, NE, NJ, NY, PA, and WI
Postcards for Democracy (postcards.markersfordem…) - you provide your own postcards & stamps and download addresses & script; currently they are writing for 2 races:
* Julio Salinas running in a Primary for TX HD-41 -mail ASAP but no later than Feb 20
* Kadarius Knapper running for Little Rock, AR School Board - write and hold until Feb 9th then mail ASAP
Postcards to Swing States (turnoutpac.org/postcards) they currently are on their 3rd (of 5) rounds for News Boosting postcards for (GA, IA, ME, MI, and NC) - they mail you the postcards for FREE (minimum quantity 100) along with script and address list; you provide stamps; mailing date for Round 3 is April 2.
Postcards to Voters (postcardstovoters.org/v…) -you provide your own postcards & stamps and download addresses & script; Currently PTV has three campaigns:
1 - Addresses for Judge Chris Taylor in WI
2 - Addresses for LeMario Brown in GA
3 - Addresses for FL VBM Hillsborough County
PTV policy is to Mail as you go with a mailing deadline of 3 days from when you download the addresses. This speeds up the turn around and allows them to modify scripts to target different voters. I suspect that the postcards for Judge Taylor are going to people who have voted by mail and need to request their ballots; subsequent campaigns will target voters who vote in person.
If you do not have any postcards on hand, you can get creative and make your own using index cards or cutting up card stock. You can also buy pre-stamped blank postcards at the post office or you can order from Amazon or Etsy. I am boycotting Amazon, so I usually order from Etsy.
