Some friends from a (mostly) CA postcard/letter-writing group regularly attend a weekly pop-up on a corner near a Trader Joe's. They told me that it started with only a couple of brave souls last year and has grown considerably. Consistency is key, since people may need to see you a few times, before they decide to stop and join you.

I'm very fortunate that I don't need to start from scratch. Our local Indivisible chapter sponsors ~ 2 dozen corner popups and bridge protests every week. The number of participants fluctuates depending on the weather and what is happening in the news. (When ICE and Border Patrol invaded Charlotte last November, the numbers swelled dramatically, but sadly have since dropped off.) But that doesn't impact the number of eyeballs that see your signs - especially for those bridge protests of which Robert frequently posts photos!
