More on the NC Voter protection front (part 3):

The NC GOP is also sowing confusion with the Voter Registration Repair that grew out of Judge Griffiths attempt to overturn the 2024 Supreme Court election and steal the seat from Justice Allison Riggs. His attempt ultimately failed, but the GOP-controlled legislature decided to challenge the registrations of voters who were missing their driver's license number and/or last 4-digits of their SSN.

In addition, there will be a series of zoom sessions where you can learn more about how to volunteer to help make sure NC voters have the access they need to vote in November.

I have been volunteering with NC Voter protection since the 2020 election cycle where I volunteered as an outside poll observer** and signed up for shifts on the Voter Protection Hotline. In subsequent elections, I have volunteered as an inside poll observer. It is very rewarding!

** Inside poll observers must be a registered voter in the county where you are volunteering and have completed the online training. Inside Poll observers are vetted by the parties - but I believe the Dems are fine with unaffiliated voters.

Outside poll observers just need to complete the training and be able to show up at the polling place.

The Hotline is totally virtual and you don't even need to live in NC. They provide training and a comprehensive FAQ guide.
