It's funny how government programs are not handouts when the recipient is a corporation or their melanin isn't densely packed. Redlining, exclusion from the GI Bill, exclusion from most Dep. Of Ag programs, criminalizing marijuana cultivation and sales, until those who aren't BIPOC were allowed to “legitimize” it and more, always leave Black people leaning on the sustenance of creativity, while cobbling together scraps to make a life.
