Inspired by the traditional Scottish act of Waulking (Scottish Gaelic: luadh) - women weaving, finishing tweed cloth in community together while singing.

We’re inviting you to our 21st Century version;

Stitching, writing, tagging, inviting you to write on the theme of women weaving and what that means to you this international women’s day (Sun 8 March). 

What’s in the legacy you weave, word after word, note after note, post after post here? What impact do you have?  

What are your hopes for women in community online or where you live?  

How to join in;

• Tag a friend in the comments who you think might like to be part of this year’s call? We’ve had hundreds of entries the past two years - it’s been epic.

• Make an art work, a song, a poem, read something, share some writing in a post by or on 8th March 2026 inspired by this year’s theme (Women Weaving). 

• Tag all six of us in the post so we can share and see it.

• We’ll weave them together and amplify your words as part of IWD 2026.
