One HN commenter catalogued what lived inside that function: the agent run loop, SIGINT handling, rate limiting, AWS authentication, MCP lifecycle management, plugin loading, team-lead polling via a while(true) loop, model switching, and turn interruption recovery. His verdict: this should be 8 to 10 separate modules. Nobody disagreed.
