How I decide ratings: I buy every product with my own money. I test it 2-4 times. I feed it to my family and listen to their honest (sometimes brutal) feedback. I compare it to restaurant versions and homemade attempts. Then I assign a number that will make half the internet agree with me and the other half want to argue. That's the process. It's deeply unscientific and I wouldn't have it any other way.
