There’s something that’s been bothering me about Substack. There’s starting to be far too much tutorial and evangelising content about how to get more subscribers, especially paying ones. There’s nothing wrong with some writers generously sharing their experiences and best practices, but please, let’s not turn this into the LinkedIn of writing. “If I got 1,000 subscribers in a day, you can too.” “Now Substack pays my bills.” Good for you, but it’s getting tiresome, people.
