It is all well and good to promote and post about the aesthetics of reading, but the real work is done in secret, in the quiet hours alone with your books. And this requires discipline. There is an unspoken understanding among us who post here I think. Most of the work is done alone and is thankless but it is altogether necessary. It can’t be faked, at least not convincingly.
