In 1993, Disney decided to try to reproduce the explosive success of Bryan Adams’ “Everything I Do (I Do It for You")” from the ROBIN HOOD (1991) soundtrack by getting Adams, Sting, and Rod Stewart to team up for a similar ballad for the THREE MUSKETEERS soundtrack. The Mouse House sent moving trucks loaded with gold bars to each of their homes to ensure they agreed. I mean, not really - but maybe? I don’t know how else to explain this song’s existence.
The song went to #1 in the US. It will never stop sounding cheesy to me, but I’ve come to peace with the fact that I don’t care. It shows up on every road trip playlist I compile.
