I'm just slightly younger than you, Anton, but it's puzzling to me too. The pendulum swing of history from tender masculinity to toxic masculinity (including the "no homo" bater bros now so common on Xitter they're a parody of themselves imo) seems on the verge of swinging back to tender masculinity.
