Since 2013, this is what I think about when I hear “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC. It was a frequent soundtrack while driving through Kabul during my year there advising the Afghan National Police. In addition to seeing these streets in my mind when I hear the song, I can’t help but also see one of our Canadian teammates headbanging along (sorry that’s not in the video; you’ll just have to trust me.)
Is it possible that I have found a kindred spirit? I have strong criticisms of most national politicians and governments in the world. So many seem to be more interested in themselves, their power and their financial gain. They are not serving the public, their constituents, but are self-serving.
