Sounds like an old-school Republican, which I’ve had the pleasure of knowing a few. Even when we’ve disagreed on policy, we’ve respected each other. And in my experience, true conservatives want nothing to do with this neo-conservative con that bigots and zealots used to take over the once-principled Republican Party.
