JUST IN - LeBron James has retired - but not entirely. Not content with his 4 NBA championships and all-time NBA scoring title, James, 38, says he will be “transitioning” into the WNBA for the 2023-24 season in order to add WNBA scoring, assist, steals and rebounding titles, as well as “at least 4 more championships” before retiring, which she says she will do at age 42. James hinted that she may consider “transitioning” to non-specific gender identity some time in the future, in order to enjoy all of they’s accomplishments without gender bias or stigma.

Coaches around the WNBA have been lighting up social media with hopes and predictions about what the NBA hall of famer’s impact might be on the WNBA. One coach said, “With her size and strength, she’s going to pose a real problem in the post.” Two time WNBA Finals MVP Brianna Stewart said, “Her athleticism, speed and agility, even at her age, will make her almost unstoppable in the open court.”

However, not everyone is happy with the announcement. A group of transphobic WNBA players have been very vocal, making false and dangerous claims that biological males are taller, stronger, faster and will dominate biological females. These cisgender women, who are not only transphobic, but are racist, homophobic and MAGA extremists, have petitioned the commissioner of the WNBA, along with the NCAA and NFHS, to ban all biological males from competing in women’s sports.

When asked about this kind of dangerous, hate-driven misinformation, LeBronna responded, “It’s not that I was born into the wrong body entirely. It’s that I was born into the wrong body for my age. At 38, I’m at an age where winning in men’s sports is becoming difficult. This is why I believe my non-binary self is asking to be freed from its patriarchal stereotype. This is the age I become my true self - a 270 pound, 6 foot 9 female athlete fulfilling my destiny of domination and securing my place in history as the greatest woman to ever play basketball.”

Regarding the hatred she’s receiving from transphobic cis-women, she said, “The rules are the rules. I didn’t make the rules. But I’m sure going to use them. It makes sense that these science-denying women-haters are being led by the Paula Deen of transphobia herself, Riley Gaines ( facebook.com/Riley.Gaines.Barker ), who is constantly trying to bend the rules for her own personal gains.”

She finished the press conference with praise for her support team, saying, "I feel so blessed that I've been surrounded with so much love and support during my transition. With the right people around me, the entire transition process only took about 4 hours in front of a mirror. Shout out to all my homies who've been there for me and helped me with my foundation, eyeliner and the shopping trips to Sephora, Lane Bryant and Torrid. I couldn't have done it without them."

Commenting anonymously, a Los Angeles Laker teammate praised James’ body positivity, stating, “LeBronna has come to love her self and love her body, and along that journey, love other people’s bodies. I’m not ashamed to say that I’ve seen LeBronna in the shower. Whatever team she plays for next year, those ladies are in for a real treat!”
