Even Elon Musk can no longer reliably become main character of the day at will anymore. Announcements sprinkled with giga this tera that, moon this mars that are not enough to pop in the narrative anymore. Even Trump is struggling for narrative traction despite starting wars and flailing about sabotaging efforts to end them with ever more over-the-top theatrics.

There’s never been a worse time to be a broadcast marketer for whom influence over the narrative is existential.

I’m increasingly convinced the only move is to curate persistent contexts rather than flail around with the plot. The plot has been lost for a year or two. I was tracking this phenomenon during early Covid. It retreated briefly but it’s back with a vengeance.
