Van Gogh's "Olive Trees" contains a real grasshopper that has been fossilized in the paint for 128 years.
The insect had stuck to his brush and crashed onto the canvas without him noticing. Conservators discovered the perfectly preserved insect in 2017 using surgical microscopes.
