There’s an argument to be made, Rupert Murdoch and his son Lachlan Murdoch own and run the WSJ and Fox. He and they are not the resistance. This is the oligarchy, not the resistance. Murdoch is an opportunist. He’s been saddled up next to Trump the entire time. He’s been there in the Oval Office from the very beginning, during the inauguration, during the BBB. Every now and then over the years, they’ll drop a bomb on Trump through Fox or the WSJ to bring him in line. If Murdoch sees Trump is weak, he’ll take the other side. This is not the resistance. This is the oligarchy positioning.
They’ve released this story because they see some advantage for them in doing so, a weakness they’re ready to exploit. Word is, they’ve decided it’s time to move Trump out and move Vance in.
Trump is not the GOP, he’s his MAGA base, and until now he’s had the GOP pinned down. Trump is now disposable. The GOP, the Murdochs, and the oligarchy are not attempting to and are not going to stop Project 2025. With or without Trump.
Yes, this is a point scored, a win, and an opportunity shifting the deck against Trump individually. But, this is also play, a move by the oligarchy of which the Murdoch family is a key player. Celebrate, absolutely. Use the energy, absolutely. And then, the question is, what’s the next move when Trump is individually brought down to deal with a Vance taking his place?
Not one move, two, and three moves ahead.
