Great insight into the failure that is the United Kingdom. I am in a paradoxical position of being anti-monarchy and against London based governance but also wanting there to be a union between England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. I have nothing to defend that with other than internationalist ideals. A British Isles split up into 3 or 4 parts makes no sense to me. But I'm English, and haven't experienced the worse of it.
Having said all that, everything in this article rings true. And when the Union does start to disintegrate, which it will, best believe it'll hit England hardest. A strong case could be made to say that will be karma.
This, as I say so much, is the great irony among the English who support Reform and all the other shite. They're too stupid to realise one, the old England, and the British Empire, is long dead and gone, and two, it is they (as in the politicians they have supported and the economic system they believe in) who are responsible for current state of the UK.
Just delusions of former grandeur everywhere in England.
