Being young and stupid, and learning the same lesson over and over are all part of the right of passage! I also made knowingly stupid decisions and then had to find my way out of the consequences. This is what builds courage and integrity. We aren’t actually born with these traits. Our need for safety makes these some of the hardest traits to cultivate. But eventually, they are learnt and often become surprisingly easy to maintain. That is the challenge of building character.
