The app for independent voices

Mandani winning is the most dramatic example of the generation gap, again the largest since the 1960s. All Mamdani hate is hopelessly Boomer-coded. The Dimes Square-Dirtbag Left horseshoe has closed to become a circle now. In 2024 everyone insisted that the “vibe shift” meant a rightward turn. But as I and Frank DiStefano and Ross Barkan and Ted Gioia have said, it is more about being anti-establishment. This is what I meant when I said “Now that’s what I call a vibe shift.” As you can glean from the headline below, we are beyond vibe shifts now. We are in a new era.

It is odious to keep droning on about how I was right so let me speak on how I was mistaken: I neglected to realize the revolution of consciousness we need can only result from a revolution in political thought. Wokeness was the furthest thing from this: it merely took popular liberal concepts (anti-racism and anti-homophobia) to extremes. Gaza and socialism have long been taboo. Now that the Overton window has shifted, a revolution of consciousness or a politics of consciousness is not only possible but inevitable. Dada was an anti-war movement. Beat lit was anti-consumerist as was much of the hippie movement.

TLDR: here is my update on 2025: A Vision. The ‘20s have officially begun. It is somehow going to get crazier.
