argentina’s gold disppeared (was shipped out of the country; govt won’t say where) a few months before that.
tether’s attested gold holdings increased noticeably in the period before / after argentina’s gold disappeared after years of being more or less the same.

could be nothing, but could also very much be argentina leasing their gold to tether to buff up tether’s quarterly non-audits (pronounced “attestations”).
