behold, the price chart sent to Jeffrey Epstein a few months before the 2016 election by a two person team consisting of:

  1. an indian hacker guy in dubai

  2. a young woman from uzbekistan (AKA "russia")

Epstein was buying "market research" on "twitter trends" from these people during the final months of the 2016 election.

(spoiler alert: real “market research” firms don’t charge by the click. this is a bot farm, and the operators of this bot farm were sending Epstein regular reports about the US election and asking him to invest in their startup)

[edit] i copied some stuff i put in the first reply below into this tweet so more people will see it. it’s still worth checkin the reply post for the screenshots though.

now look, epstein only started getting regular reports from this russian botnet market analytics firm “InsightsPod”¹ about the ebb and flow of electoral twitter vibes less than 3 months before the 2016 election, so even if Epstein had written them a huge check the first time he met them they couldn’t have scaled up their operation quickly enough to make any difference in 2016.

but…

epstein was alive for 3 more years after the 2016 election and i’m 100% sure he didn’t lose interest in influencing the vibes on the internet just because the election ended. quite the contrary - ever since was forced to place his mugshot in sex offender registries all over world epstein had developed a keen interest “online reputation management” services. in fact he had already hired no less than three³ providers of those services them by the time the 2016 election rolled around.

apparently most of them sucked at their job - that or Epstein had unrealistc expectations about what could be accomplished in terms of improving the online reputation of humanity’s most infamous pedophile. either way they weren’t getting the results he wanted. epstein was dismayed enough about the fact that the first page of google results for his name was still “pedo”, “pedo”, “pedo”, etc. after his online reputation had been “managed” that he got in a fight with the guy he hired² about the size of the bill².

from what i saw those the first few firms he hired were amateurs. they had no social media klout of their own to deploy and seemed to be manually trying to create fake pages about epstein’s educational philanthropy etc. etc. just by clicking through forms on the web.

that kind of manual approach to google search result hygiene definitely doesn’t work any more and for a guy like epstein it wouldn’t have worked in 2015 either. it just takes too much time for humans to create and boost enough content to have a fighting chance of knocking links to stories on the front page of the Wall St Journal about your sex crimes off the first page of search results.

but you know what can create and boost enough AI slop⁴ content to not only influence the algorithms on twitter but even have a profound political impact and maybe even do mortal damage to the entire concept of “shared reality” itself?

botnets.

¹ at least at the time. it has since apparently rebranded

² Al Seckel, who happened to be isabel maxwell’s husband and therefore Ghislaine Maxwell’s brother in law

³ not including InsightsPod, that we know of, so far. i suspect it’s a lot more.

⁴ technically AI hadn’t been invented yet. it was more mechanical turk slop than AI slop, but the two kinds of slop are not really that different in the end.
