Instagram says it's committed to keeping kids safe.
But it took until 2024 for Teen Accounts to roll out and even now, there's no meaningful age verification at sign-up. No real consequences for platforms that get this wrong.
The Online Safety Act is being implemented. Ofcom has teeth. But the gap between what these companies promise and what they deliver is where our kids are getting hurt.
Parents can't be the only line of defence. Push back. Ask questions. Stay loud.
