Your home network right now probably looks like this:
Router: 192.168.1.1
Laptop: 192.168.1.15
Phone: 192.168.1.22
None of those addresses are visible to the internet.
They're private. Reusable. Invisible from outside.
But your router has a second identity.
A public IP that the internet actually sees.
The translation between those two worlds is called NAT.
Understanding this changes how you think about network attacks and defenses.
