Sending the same resume to every cybersecurity job is not a strategy. It is a signal.
It tells the hiring manager you either applied to the wrong role or applied to 200 jobs in one afternoon without reading a single description.
Both scenarios signal the same thing: low intent.
A generic resume says you want a job. A tailored resume says you want this job.
If you are applying for GRC roles: show control mapping, documentation, risk thinking. If you are applying for SOC roles: show detection, triage, log analysis. If you are applying for pentesting: show methodology, reporting, scope discipline.
Cybersecurity is not one job. Your resume should not pretend that it is.
