Raf, here’s another weirdo cult idea to look up. There was a popular podcast around 2010-2020? Called The Seattle Files. It was hosted by Chris Allen. He would invite a local comedian to join him when he did a deep historical dive on local history. He did a hilarious episode on the cult of the Holy Rollers who got their start in Portland, moved to Corvallis and somehow ended up in Seattle. The same story was also covered in the Offbeat Oregon History podcast, along with stories about the Rajneeshpuram cult in Madras, OR. Plus the starvation cult in Portland. The Seattle Files are inactive but might be archived somewhere. It’s really worth tracking down :-)
