We own two cars, a Chevy Traverse and a Kia soul. The Chevy puts its gear shift rod in the same place the Kia puts its windshield wiper rod. All I know is that more than once, I accidentally shifted into park during a rainstorm. And I had a collision with a parked car in front of me when I thought I had successfully shifted into park but what I actually did was put my back windshield wiper on.
