This is a very thought provoking post about using LLMs to generate practice questions - because the instructional materials don’t include enough.
On the one hand, this kind of thing is a really good use of LLMs.
On the other hand, why don’t the instructional materials include enough practice? Why don’t we have old fashioned boring textbooks that have literally a couple of thousand questions in them? These textbooks used to exist!
Now it’s “progress” if teachers use a clunky and error prone LLM to create their own.
