Title - From Building to Structuring: Refining Our Project in Phase 2
1. Opening
While the initial phase of our project focused on building a working prototype, Phase 2 introduced a different challenge altogether — organizing, refining, and aligning everything we had created into a coherent system.
What we had was functional, but not yet structured. The goal now was to make sure that every component — from the implementation to the documentation — clearly reflected the direction and purpose of the project.
2. The Need for Refinement
As we progressed, it became clear that our earlier documentation no longer accurately represented what we had built. The project had evolved significantly — from a simple cube-based transformation system to one that included multiple Platonic solids and AR interaction.
This created a mismatch between:
What was documented
What was actually implemented
Bridging this gap became a key focus of Phase 2.
3. Updating the Strategic Direction
One of the major tasks in this phase was redefining the strategic direction of the project. Instead of focusing on future possibilities, we shifted towards clearly presenting what had already been achieved.
This involved:
Aligning the project goals with the current implementation
Clearly defining system components
Removing unnecessary or unused elements from the plan
The idea was simple — make the project honest, clear, and focused.
4. Reworking the Evaluation
Another important step was updating the evaluation document. Earlier, it focused more on expected outcomes, but now it needed to reflect actual performance and results.
We restructured it to:
Highlight what the system currently achieves
Identify limitations realistically
Emphasize usability and conceptual clarity
This shift made the evaluation more grounded and meaningful.
5. Updating the Proposal
The proposal presentation also required significant changes. As the project evolved, the original proposal no longer matched the system we had built.
We refined it to:
Reflect the inclusion of Platonic solids
Incorporate AR-based interaction
Present a clearer system workflow
This ensured that anyone reviewing the proposal would see a consistent narrative across all components.
6. The Importance of Consistency
One of the key takeaways from this phase was the importance of consistency. A project is not just about building features, but also about how clearly those features are communicated.
By aligning:
The README
The evaluation document
The proposal
we ensured that the entire project told the same story.
7. Reflection
Phase 2 highlighted a different side of development — one that is often overlooked. While building the system was important, refining and presenting it properly was equally critical.
This process helped us understand that a well-structured project not only works well but is also easy to understand, evaluate, and communicate.
