I can agree with just about all of your assertions regarding the orthodox beliefs. The one I have the most difficulty with is the veneration of Mary. She was a sanctified vessel used by God to bear the Son, but she was a human being. We don’t worship her. We do honor her for her role and obedience. Another point that gives me pause is the use of icons. It can lead to false worship of apostles and other church leaders. Christ alone is to be worshipped. I think many of us not in the Orthodox Church believe much of the same but hold that the church, even orthodox churches are fallible because they are all led by fallible human beings. Our Faith rests in God alone for our salvation. When we begin to trust in any man above God and His word we put ourselves in danger.
