Seriously, consider this. Let’s say you had $50k in the bank—would you be willing to share $500 of it to end world hunger? If the answer is yes, ask yourself: why aren’t billionaires doing this? Because even this stat belies how little it would impact a billionaire. After all, even if you only had a measly billion, giving away 1% of your wealth would leave you with $990,000,000. I’d argue that $500 is worth more to someone with $50k than the $10M does to the billionaire.
And hell, even aside any altruism or generosity of spirit: they could become the most beloved people on Earth overnight at essentially no material cost to them, and they keep choosing otherwise.
