Weird seeing so many Canadians complaining about how we haven't won a gold medal yet. When I was kid (and the Soviet and East German doping programs were running full strength) we considered it a good Winter Olympics if we walked away with more than one medal.
Seriously: we won two medals at Lake Placid in 1980, four at Sarajevo in 1984 (three of ‘em, including two gold, by the same guy, Gaetan Boucher) and five on our home soil in 1988. Until 2010, our third Olympics, we were the only country that had never won Gold as the host country!
