It’s a dramatic realignment of the French political system. Then again, France does tend to completely overhaul its entire political system every few years, so it’s not really that surprising. Certainly you’d never see the dominant mainstream political parties collapse in Great Britain, home of the Mother of Parliaments, and oh hey guess what?
