The memo—signed by a President who, I might add, just weeks earlier quietly vanished the FBI’s webpage on the primary threat of white nationalist violence—outlines a new framework for identifying “domestic terrorists.” It instructs a whole-of-government approach, from the FBI to the IRS, to root out ideologies that serve as “indicators of violence.” Among them: “anti-capitalism,” challenging “traditional ideas of family or gender,” and espousing views hostile to “Christian morality.”

I read the list again. Then a third time. This scares me, I felt viscerally.
