The app for independent voices

I don’t publish newsletters often enough, because I associate that with a much higher bar of being “writer-ly” and now that I’ve been paid for my writing (in the past, on this platform) I feel a certain obligation to write on that level. But I also crave community, like any human being, and wanted to talk for a minute about something I am super passionate about and don’t have enough creative outlet for: I am becoming an actually good cook!

Like, this is 20+ years in the making. Maybe longer… I have food-making memories that stick out as early signs this is my real passion. I love startups and building software products, but nothing moves me or feels more creatively aligned than serving meals. I am not sure how to align this with my career (and I don’t know that I should!) but I want to post up some things I’ve made in the past 2 weeks in hopes that you’ll take some pleasure in these creations with me and we’ll know each other a little better.

and if you read this and have suggestions for how I can take this further… even if I don’t take them… I’m open to hearing them. I feel like meals are like books: I will never ever read everything on my list but I am damn well going to try!
