Reading Kierkegaard at length and in depth is a master(slave) class in writing complicated erotica. (Hegelians and fetlifers alike take note!) I couldn’t have predicted that when I picked up Philosophical Fragments a couple years ago. (It helps when you’ve got a partner who’s game for picking out the kinks implied in Soren’s delightfully tortured imagination.) And this is meant with complete admiration for Kierkegaard’s spiritual crises and aspirations. That’s all part of the onto-erotic genius of it.
