In the other place - X - Ross Barkan is assailing Jesse Singal for his tenacious and courageous exposure of the fast-tracking of sex reassignment for children, mainly gay and lesbian, without any solid medical basis.

He is trying to argue that good journalism should not happen if some bigots might want to deploy it for nefarious ends.

I just want to say that in my view, Jesse’s reporting has been scrupulous and prophetic and courageous. If Pulitzers were still given on the basis of merit instead of ideology, he’d have racked up several.

I will never, ever, ever get tired of living 700 feet from this waterfall.

I think it takes me exactly three minutes to walk here from my front porch. How the hell did I get so lucky?

Substack is in danger of collapsing under its own weight. There are just too many worthy accounts here now to expect readers to cough up $5 for every writer they want to read. There needs to be some kind of subscription/revenue sharing mechanism so subscribers aren’t constantly asked for money for every damned article they’d like to read. Sell tokens. Punchcards. Come on, SS, INNOVATE ALREADY.

I met an older man in a café today who at a certain point asked me to look up the book he had written on Amazon. Later, on the bus, I looked at the reviews, and one of them said “I read this after I met the author in a café and he told me to look up his book”.

I've been saying, "We need a hero!" And it seems that you folks think so too.

How does somebody become a hero. Well, much to the consternation of so many of us it seems that they way to become a hero is to gun someone down by shooting him in the back. It shouldn't take a cold blooded murder to draw attention to what corporate wealth & power has done to the country. It's been obvious all along but it takes one, lone gunman who has now become a hero of sorts to many because he brought the problem …

See my response above. Biden needs to act like one.

Not going to happen Daniel, Biden is going to sink quietly into the background and hope that Der Fuhrer, forgets about him, Kamala as well.

Biden could certify the ERA, but won't. He will take the excuse that the archivist and deptuty aft the Library of Congress, has the authority to estop it by claiming that it has to be certified by congress or SCOTUS, and that is pure bullshit, but is enough of an excuse for Biden.

Biden could have taken pot off schedule 1 at any time, but didn't.

There is so m…

He has been forced out of “60 Minutes” by the insatiable greed of Shari Redstone, who has demanded that Bill Owens bend the knee to Donald Trump.

Bill Owens did not bend the knee.

Bill Owens took a stand.

Thank you, Bill Owens.
