Stage 1 of a grudge: the inciting incident. The action or statement we feel harmed by.

Stage 2: our reaction. Could be anger or indignance. Perhaps sorrow or embarrassment.

Stage 3: what we do about it.

We have very little control over the first two stages. We entirely choose what we do in Stage 3, though.

I came across an interview this week from former NBA player Jeremy Lin. He explained how he reached out to one of the people who’d hurt him, and ultimately restored an important friendship. #Grudge #MentalHealth
