Last summer, my wife and I were on our way home to the place we were staying in Bend after a day at Crater Lake National Park. South of La Pine, we came across a small, but quickly growing, wildfire. As we slowly approached along with the rest of the traffic, I grabbed my GA645, stuck it in Program Mode, dialed in a stop and a half of exposure comp to account for the fact I’d be shooting into the sun, and pressed the lens hood against my window and kept my eyes on the road. I managed to take two shots as I drove by, with this one showing the two firefighters running toward the source of the smoke turning out the best. This photo is my submission for this week’s Aminus3 Photography prompt- smoke.
