The app for independent voices

This past Sunday, we hosted our first WORK-IN-PROGRESS screening at CURATED WINE SHOP in mid-city Los Angeles where we paired a specific wine with the work-in-prrogress cut of the film and collected feedback from the crowd! I need to come up with a clever name for these Wine ‘n Workprint screenings (wait, is that it? Wine ‘n Workprint?), because this was just the first of many!

Big thanks to writer-director Monique Sorgen for being our guinea pig and taking a chance on screening her work-in-progress film in this fashion. jake S. weisman for putting us in touch and getting the ball rolling. Jon Stahl for setting up the Luma invite whiplash fast.

It was awesome seeing Courtney Daniels, meeting Lauer (who has some exciting stuff in the works, Filmstack folks, make sure y’all are following him!) plus a long list of folks who aren’t yet FilmStack, so can’t tag them…yet.

Also MASSIVE shout out to Monique’s producer (is he on Substack, Monique?), who hand drew a blueprint of the screening space, and drew in the equuipment we needed to upgrade for the best screening experience for minimal cost. He even listed the equipment and prices! So…expect this space to evolve FAST and be even better for the next one.

If any of you love this idea and want to consider an in-person screening of your Work-in-Progress film for feedback, don’t hesitate to reach out!

And screenings of finished short films and features at this same space coming super soon, too!
