Working as a nurse with the "dirt poor" up the hollows (" hollers") of West Virginia for 2 years in the late 70's, I witnessed the miracle of what the WIC (Women Infant Children) nutrition program and our federal Early Childhood Development clinics brought to the mountainfolk. And to think that they'll probably re-elect him makes it even worse. In light of what they use for a governor, though, it's not terribly surprising.
