When people ask how I got to where I am or why I do what I do, it’s not a straightforward answer or a straight line. The honest version is that I simply kept following what I didn’t understand. I kept asking “what if?” And when I’d get interested in something, I’d learn it, notice something adjacent that didn’t make sense, and follow that instead. It’s the simplest thing, but we don’t really look at curiosity as a navigational system and yet here it is.
