If readers are confused, skipping around, or not finishing your piece…

it’s usually not the idea.

Check this:

• Do events happen in a clear order, or are you jumping between moments?

• Does each scene change something, or does it repeat the same point?

• Can someone explain what just happened after reading, or are they unsure?

If those break, the story won’t carry.
