My mother escaped from Nazi Germany, and my father fled Hungary. For them, 'never again' constituted a responsibility, not just a slogan. He taught me that it should mean never again for everyone. As Jewish families come together for Passover, I’m thinking about remembrance and what it asks of us today. Now, 'never again' is not only about the past; it’s a guide for how we live now. Passover is a story of liberation, dignity, and the belief that everyone deserves freedom and safety. But these ideals only matter if we live by them, if we refuse to accept suffering as something that just happens, and if we never let anyone’s identity silence justice. Standing against hate means standing against all hate. I wish you a meaningful and peaceful Passover.
