I’m going to say something that shouldn’t be controversial but will be. If you are a Christian, you can support border control and immigration being legal vs illegal. You CANNOT celebrate deportations and get off on the cruelty, and be a real Christ follower. Period

sometimes i wonder how many versions of myself i’ve outgrown without even noticing. i look back at old photos and remember the thoughts i used to carry, the dreams i thought would save me. it’s strange how you can live inside yourself every day and still not realize you’re evolving. it’s only when you look back that you realize how far you’ve come, how many lives you’ve already lived in the same skin.
Trump told them "To stand down and be ready" in the Virginia clash.
What surprises me in all of this is that there was no significant presence from the left. It is hard to imagine the left (or the authorities) was not monitoring these December-January exchanges.
it was so obvious (to me, at any rate) that very bad things were going to happen on 1/6. for anyone on the left to have gone would have been like a declaration of war; war is exactly what it would have been. and one thing I was thinking on that day, as I watched in complete, fascinated horror was what I know pretty much everyone else was thinking: if these rioters were BLM, the ground would have been covered with dead bodies. staying away was the only sensible course of action. I have a friend who tells me he was planning to go down there because he claims it was going to be a protest against vaccination mandates, or something. or maybe he's just lying. god knows if I were in his position and wanted to keep returning to my home, I'd be saying the same thing. this mass stupidity still has the capacity to shock me.
