For me, the movies and roles are Hawkeye Pierce in "M.A.S.H." (he did it before Alan Alda) and Vernon Pinkley, one of "The Dirty Dozen" (standing out physically and mentally in comparison to his better known co-stars). And his wonderful guest appearance on "The Simpsons": "You are banned, you and your children, and your children's children- for three months!".

But I admire him most for being a Canadian who succeeded in Hollywood without turning his back on where he came from, and being a recognizable and reliable performer no matter what he did on screen.
