The app for independent voices

I agree with this reminder very much. We tend to believe that fun things will just happen, that spontaneity will kick in and our lives will be full of enjoyment. But the reality is that if we do not plan the things we love to do, they rarely happen. Spontaneity is over romanticized. Planning almost always beats spontaneity.

If you know what you love, plan those things consciously. Regularly book cinema tickets, look for concert tickets of bands you love, plan that hike you have always wanted to do, and book the trip as soon as possible. Otherwise, you will end up in situations where you have no time, work feels overwhelming, you simply forget, and nothing happens again.

Underrated life advice:

Schedule your fun first. The vacation. The dinner. The concert. The weekend trip.

Put joy on the calendar before work fills it. Most people work first, play with what's left.

There's never anything left.

Book fun like meetings. Treat joy like obligation. Happiness needs planning too.
