I love running because it reminds me to appreciate the little things in my life. Today, I ran 22 km, but I forgot to bring water with me. After 15 km, I started to feel dizzy. My lips became dry like a desert, clear signs of dehydration. I know this well, and still, I made a mistake. Next time, I will not underestimate this distance and will prepare myself better.
You can imagine how much I craved water on the way home. The first thing I did was pour a glass of cold water and drink it immediately. I do not want to exaggerate, but that moment was the best part of my day. That glass of water, which I so often take for granted in my life.
This was a reminder for me to appreciate water, this essential thing that makes it possible for us to live.
When you drink water today, try to enjoy the moment. Taste it.
And be thankful that you can have it so easily.
